Tracks Pedagogical Sciences

The master of Pedagogical Sciences consists of four tracks, namely Studies of Child Rearing and Family Support, Studies of Special Education in the Family and at School, Studies of Forensic Child and Youth Care and Children's Rights.

Studies of Childrearing and Family Support

Raising children has always been a ‘hot issue’. In this master programme some of the questions you deal with can be about how to deal with temperamental children, what it means for children to be raised by two mothers or fathers, and the cultural differences in having and raising children. Studies of Special Education in the Family and at School

Studies of Forensic Child and Youth Care

This master programme focuses on children and teenagers who (may) come in contact with the police, the judicial system or child protection because of serious behavioural problems or delinquency. You will learn more about causes and backgrounds of these young people and how to prevent delinquency. (Language of instruction Dutch)

Children's Rights

Do you want to develop an understanding of the ways in which children’s rights are being protected, and how societies and children themselves are taking responsibility fot these rights? Then this master programme might be the one for you. In this interdisciplinary programme you will learn more about areas like education, health, social protection and child labour.
